Why lifecycle control matters

Access should follow the user’s real business status.

Users change jobs, departments, projects and employment status. When identity work is scattered across tickets and separate application consoles, access can arrive late—or remain longer than needed.

Rainbow Secure gives administrators one place to view the user, make lifecycle changes and keep access decisions easier to review.

The controlled journey

Join. Change. Leave.

Three clear stages keep identity and access aligned without making administration complicated.

01

Join

Create or synchronize the user, confirm their business status, and assign the access needed for the role.

02

Change

Update department, manager, groups, roles and applications as responsibilities change.

03

Leave

Disable the Rainbow Secure identity, disable access in connected applications, or apply both actions when the relationship ends.

Two levels of disable control

Disable the Rainbow Secure identity, application access—or both.

Administrators can choose the scope that matches the business situation instead of treating every access change the same.

01

Disable from Rainbow Secure

From the All Users screen, disable the user’s Rainbow Secure identity to prevent the account from using Rainbow Secure–controlled access.

Best for: leave, suspension, investigation or complete offboarding
02

Disable access in an application

Remove or disable access to a connected application while keeping the user’s Rainbow Secure identity and other approved access active.

Best for: role changes, project completion or one application no longer being required

Lifecycle controls

Make the right change at the right moment.

Onboard

Create the identity and place the user into the appropriate department, groups and roles.

Assign

Provide approved application access based on the user’s responsibilities.

Transfer

Adjust memberships and access when a user changes teams, locations or projects.

Review

Confirm that current roles and application assignments remain appropriate.

Suspend

Disable the Rainbow Secure identity temporarily while preserving the user record.

Offboard

Disable the identity and remove access from connected applications when the relationship ends.

Governance and evidence

Answer the questions an auditor will ask.

Keep user status, memberships, assigned roles and lifecycle changes visible so security and compliance teams can review how access was managed.

Who is the user? What access was assigned? Which groups and roles apply? Is the account enabled? What changed and when? Was access removed?
